The Faith of Our Next President

I saw today that a full transcript came out on an interview that Obama did with a Chicago Tribune reiligion reporter four years ago when he was running for the U.S. Senate. It confirmed my worst fears, in that he claims the label of Christianity, but embraces very little of the truth of the gospel. This man is not a Christian by his own admissions. He has "his" faith and "his" god, but he thinks that Jesus was just a good teacher. Obama did not get my vote (neither did McCain, just for the record), but this man has my prayers. This interview shows how desparately he needs prayers from Christians around the world.

Nifty Web Site

I was reading a blog this morning and I saw a link that I had to try. The site is called Cyber Hymnal. It has over 7,100 Christian hymns and songs and most all of them have a MIDI tune that plays, so even if you find songs that you have never heard before, you can learn the melody. I just got through singing Martin Luther's "A Mighty Fortress is Our God".....in German (pretty rusty is my German). I may be a nerd, but that is cool!

Civics Lessons for Preschoolers

It was cool that the day before the election last week that Hannah was asking why everyone was talking about voting. I was explaning to her about people going to vote for our next President and other things. She seemed perplexed, but interested. I had already voted early, but Misty had not, so I asked her to take Hannah with her. That morning, Hannah asked, "Mommy, where's the water?" Misty replied, "What water?" Hannah responded, "The water for the BOAT." Hannah thought everyone was saying boat instead of vote. Anyway, she went with Misty down to Baxter City Hall and saw the whole thing. It was so cool to see my four-year-old more interested in voting than most Amerucan adults.
